I killed my old motor trying to shape EVA. I was looking at their website and they have a turning motor but are out of stock, does anyone know of any alternatives?? Also is there anywhere I can purchase the 1/10HP wrapping motor for cheaper than they offer?

Would a sewing machine motor work? Kinda high rpm, but that could be dealt with. Of course you could also go from zero to 10" wraps in .3 seconds.

Keep in mind the motors we use on our rod lathes are varible speed type ac/dc motors. You cant just use any type of motor most are made to run at one speed. Also your foot pedal can only handle around 1 AMP of power. The following motors in the link are all the type that could be used and at the bottom of the page their is a 6 amp pedal that could be used on the bigger motors. One other thing make sure the shaft diameter is correct for your motor pulley. My buddy upgraded his renzetti using the bigger square motor after burning two smaller motors turning EVA and hypalon. Good luck!

I believe they use a Dayton motor on these . W.W. Grainger is the distributor for these, who are nation wide. You should be able to locate one through them. Good Luck

The 1/10HP they offer is the best all around motor to use. It works fine for wrapping but has enough oomph for most light turning chores such as cork and EVA.
