Hello all,
I was curious if anyone had any opinions on these fly rod blanks. Thanks,
Tom.

Nice blanks that fish well. A good yeoman like hardy blank and rod. Nice rods to learn and improve with. The GL3 matt finishes have been known to be damaged by normal rodbuilding chemicals such as acetone or denatured alcohol. Use them so infrequently anymore to know if they fixed this.
The Rainshadow RX7s are similar.

Not sure what the question is? The older GL3 blanks were adertised as the "best blank buy on the planet" and in my opinion that was about correct. I have not used one of the current GL3 models because I still have a couple of the old ones to build.

One of my all time favorite trout rods was the old 9 ft 9in 2 piece 5 wt GL3s.
