I have completed my first rod and it looks great. After about four fishing trips with it, the flexcoat wrapping finish looks like it has started to yellow. I have used high build. If anyone knows why this happens or knows how to prevent it. Please let me know thank you. Re: Flexcoat

Four trips!!! That might be a record. Mine start to yellow after two trips. lol. Just one of the drawbacks. I still continue to use the stuff though. As long as it all yellows at the same rate it'll look O.K. You're about to hear some comments about Thread Master. Re: Flexcoat

That's the downside of Flexcoat. What color are the threads? Most people don't notice the yellowing over dark threads

Same with LS, which is to say it doesn't yellow.

All epoxies turn yellow to some extent, some more than others. Yours will reach a point where it seems to stop and not get any worse. You may be there already.
As was said earlier, it's not really a problem unless you use very light threads or work with white blanks. .......... Re: Flexcoat

I have silver metallic thread and blue, it is not noticeable on the blue due to its dark color. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
