I have been reading up on the medeira thread that some of you use and I decided to give it a whirl last week. I bought a few small rolls 200m polynean (I think )and wrapped some scrap blank pieces up , used the CP and then coated. All seem to be a success. However when I was wrapping I noticed way more twisting then I was use to with other thread brands, is this normal with the medeira thread? Any tips on helpping the twistyness ?(not really good grammer sorry).

Also, I have a chance to buy 100 rolls for 110 bucks from a sewing place that's going out of biz. Is this a good deal for the $$? Thanks in advance fellas! I really like the thread so far and the color selection is outa this world. Mike

turn your spool over so the line come off the oposite side

Yep, tried that little trick and it had no effect on the twist.

If the Spool is the type that is open at the top the thread is made to come off the spool from the end.Kind of like spooling a spinning reel using the reel.Not designed to spin the spool to release the thread.Make sense??Hope so, this is the best explaination I can provide.

The deal from the sewing store going out of business may or may not be a good deal. First off I buy 1100 meter spools for under $2.00 so I don't think a 200 meter spool for a $1.00 is that good a deal. However if you buy only one or two spools at a time the shipping costs can negate any savings so in that respect the $1.00 price might well be a good deal for you if the colors are something you think you will use.

The big spools are the way to go for sure. Unfortunately I only make about 20 rods a year and that large amount of thread would last me a life time. Hopefully I will be able to use most of it.
