Guys,
Just wondering whether some of you are or have encounted the same problem I am having at present. I am building a lot of rods at present using Fuji CLRLG, CMNAG and Chrome frame Low Riders. When the rod has been bound and epoxy applied when you bend the rod there is this permanent creaking under load that doesn't go away. I haven't encounted it with any other guides but these models. I am not using any CP just epoxying straight on the wraps. I also use a lot of SVLG and NLG these guides have no creaking problem. Have some of you had the same issues? Will using CP stop it or is something I am doing wrong that I shouldn't be with these guides? Let me know your thoughts. Ross. Re: Fuji CLRLG, CMNAG Creaking Guides.

This was "common" with the BHVLG size 30 and 40 guides, and there are a few posts in the archives dealing with it. I think searching for BHVLG or "Creaking guides" might turn up some info. I've used a set of CMNAG's, and did not have this problem (size 20 & 12), but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I think people said the ring is creaking in teh frame is what is causing it, I could be wrong though. Re: Fuji CLRLG, CMNAG Creaking Guides.

I had that a while back as well on a spinning rod I built. I think Lance Dupre had a good explanation for it here a few weeks back.

I have had occassion to see this a number of times, seems each time it was with heavy guides particulary rollers and very heavy non flexible epoxy. Shimano pulled a large number of rods some years ago just because of this on one of their series, they used a guide similar to Fuji's BULG downright scary sound.
I don't recall seeing it with any of the lighter frame guides, been explained as the feet tring to move under the finish to the guide finish moving and improper guide foot prep only other comment is I suspect it is to some extent the buiders fault or we would here about it far more often.Be nice if someone came up with a fool proof way to prevent this I suspect only a matter of time till it happens to me.
