Pac Bay has just come out with an epoxy finish mixer. Looks like a really neat unit.
I just ordered one from Versitex, but have not received it yet. It supposedly mixes your finish with no bubbles. The price is reasonable too. Has anyone seen one of these yet? Good Fishin' Marc Re: Pac Bay epoxy finish mixer

If you saw the article on making and using a mechanical mixer in the Volume 6 #4 issue of RodMaker, then you know that such a unit does indeed provide you with a bubble free mix. However, you can introduce bubbles when you apply the finish if you do any amount of "brushing" the finish on or around.

Marc I have been using one for a while. Tom made a good point the machine will mix it with no bubbles but brusing will cause bubbles. Paul@soonercustomrod.com Re: Pac Bay epoxy finish mixer

Can you tell me where on Versitex website the mixer is listed? I can't find it and I am looking for a price.
I know it is new and I can't find it on any sponsors website that I have looked at. email me please as I don't think we are suppose to post prices on the board. Thanks Tom Church Re: Pac Bay epoxy finish mixer

Hello Tom,
Versitex does not have it on their site yet. If you call they can get you one. The one on the Acid Rod site looks like it is the Pac Bay one also. Good fishin' Marc Re: Pac Bay epoxy finish mixer

Curiosity was about to kill the cat and I had to go look at these things.
The device is a "cement mixer" type that used the weighted bead or small metal rod as the agitator. It also works well with a swizzle stick held stationary by an alligator clip on a flexible goose-neck shaft - it allows you to stand the cup upright for more capacity. The design is not new. I saw the first of these in the late 1980s or early 1990s. Lou Re: Pac Bay epoxy finish mixer

That one on @#$%& is made using SPLICED 2 prong wiring taken from an old lamp cord!
Not what I would call a quality and SAFE wiring method! I would have at least hard wired the cord into the motor. Besides, @#$%& does not support this site. Those who wish to use @#$%& for their purchases will be happy to know that several board SPONSORS DO have @#$%& stores though.
