I usually tie flies while waiting for a rod handle to glue up or the finish to cure. Tying flies fills the void in between rod building steps. While reading some posts on making epoxy flies on a local board, I read where a few tyers are using a Dap product because it stays in place versus the 5 minute epoxy that is hard to control while coating a fly. It dawned on me that I have the perfect epoxy for that purpose. I tied a couple of shrimp patterns last night using the Threadmaster 5 minute gel epoxy and it worked very well. Locktite makes a great product that is similar. Never had a failure in the last 5 years, for what it's worth.
