trimming rod butt

How much "power" would be lost trimming three inches from the butt on these blanks:
1) 5s60mf 6-12lb, 3/16-5/8 2) 5c60mf, 10-17lb, 1/4-3/4oz Thanks, Dan Grulke Re: trimming rod butt

Not the answer you wanted, I know, but unless you're willing to do a CCS measurement, record the ERN, slip the blank back 3 inches, run the measurement again and compare the results, you won't be able to put any sort of figure on what type of loss in power and change in action you'll actually have. A simple test that might tell you all you need to know, is just to mock up the blanks with reel seats at full length and do some shaking and pulling. Then, slip everything up 3 inches and try it again. Subjective, yes, but maybe enough to tell you what you want to know. ............ Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
