anyone know what the shortest time between coats can be? I usually wait 24 hours between coats but is this necessary? can I just lay down another coat after a few hours? the rod Im working on now is going to take 5+ coats, as I put a bunch of abalone in it and I want to get a nice finish over the uneven surfaces. thanks for any help. My rule of thumb is 18-24 hours, no more and no less. This rule has worked in every temperature, humidity level, buildup desired, etc. Five coats is a bunch of epoxy ... although I use LS Supreme, have you considered going to the Hi-Build formula? Re: anyone using LS Supreme

I have had no problems with putting the next coat on after 6-8 hours. I checked the unused portion and if it has set up, I go ahead and add the next coat. Re: anyone using LS Supreme

thanks guys- think ill go ahead and apply every 8 hours or so.
Jim, I have not used high build, although I would like to try. I usually do three very thin coats of LS supreme and get a nice flat finish. how many coats of high build are normally used. Re: anyone using LS Supreme

Hey Jared
I still owe you a call... How did working with the Abalone turn out? Was it as hard as I think or easier? Send me some pics. Ernie Re: anyone using LS Supreme

Ditto on the 6-8 hours. As soon as the finish is tack free I have applied another coat.
