Was thinking about the new 2 or 3 mm Fuji guides as the bumper guide for a spiral wrapped Fluke rod(Summer Flounder for you guys south of the Mason-Dixon line).Seems like it should work out fine to keep the line off the blank.I dont think I`ll have to pass a Knot that far down the blank.Any thoughts??

If no knot passing no problem. I just ordered MKG's in size 1mm to use with 10# Braid, just for laughs. You can't get Fuji guides in teh US size 2 or 3, Bob McKamey at Custom Tackle has them frm another company though. If you need them that small frm Fuji, gotta order from Japan.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I've used teflon shrink tubing, a wrap with permagloss on it as the bumpers never noticed a casting difference (freshwaterbass).

Sounds OK. Only gotcha I can imagine is if you have too much flex in the section containing the bumper. When flexed the point twhere the line crosses the blank axis moves back toward the bumper guide. As you would be presenting a rather small 'window' for the line to negotiate that transition, you might find your bumper carying a significant load when the blank is loaded. So test before commiting.

I can't find the 2 or 3mm guides on the Custom Tackle Supply web page. Am I missing something?
