Lamar's Five Minute Epoxy

After a trip to a local fishing tackle store today, I came home with a bag full of Andy Dear's products. The owner of the store attended the rod building show and saw Andy's products first hand and deceided to stock them. I am glad that I can now buy them locally from a fellow that I have done business with for twenty or so years. I was anxious to try the five minute epoxy on a tip and butt cap. What impressed me the most is how easy it is to glue the tip. It stays in place after a minute or so but you still have time to make any adjustments that you need and no epoxy spilling out on the rod table. I have always used hot glue for the tips but now I will use the five minute gel type product.

Good stuff. Great, actually. We've switched to it for anything we would use a five-minute epoxy for (I've been been using the Duco products for many years).

This was everything Andy said it would be. Interestingly enough, it's very easyh to mix the two parts - for example, for a tip, just a small dollop of each on the end of a mixing stick) and then mix it thoroughly, and use the center of the mix for the work. The stuff around the edges that might not be fully mixed is just a little waste, no harm done. There's enough in the two jars to put tips on for the next ten years or so.

Hi Noel,
FTU now carries the exotic burl rings, the five minute gel type epoxy, and the structureal gel type epoxy similar to Rod Bond.
