A lot of the local charter captains use what they call a “Perch Jerker†for catching Spot and Croakers. The ones I've seen are typically short rods with a moderate to slow action.
If anyone could recommend a blank it would be much appreciated. Regards, Clyde Re: Need a blank for a Chesapeake "Perch Jerker"

The rod that I use is a lamiglas gfw721m. It is 6' good backbone and a medium tip. It is good for shad darts and a bobber, but only rated up to something like a 1/2 oz. If your fishing the rivers its perfect. If your dropping wieght and minnows, it is a bit under constructed.

Try giving Ray or Robert at FishSticks4U a call. Given their location, anything pertaining to the Chesapeake Bay is probably well within their area of expertise.

CLyde, if you live local, stop into Shore Tackle and custom rods in Grasonville. Billy and I are building steadily and have many to choose from or look over. All we build is rods for every aspect of fishing on the bay, ocean, stream, pond, puddle, lake, swamp, marsh,........ you get the idea. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
