Back in the early 80's I built a steelhead casting rod from a kit. I believe it was a Loomis Composites before the G. Loomis/LCI split. The graphite trigger part of the reel seat came as a separate component. It was about equal in length to a cork ring. In fact, it was very much like a cork ring, except with a trigger hanging down and it was made of graphite. I'm interested in such a part that would complement size 16 to 18 mm reel seats. Are these available anywhere? I have searched everywhere and have not been able to locate them. Thanks in advance! Re: Individual Trigger Components

You're in luck, they just recently went back into production as Schaeffer's Super Sticker reel seat components. Mudhole carries them. Re: Individual Trigger Components

I just glued up 2 rods with those (gloomis) super sticker components tonight. [www.rodbuilding.org] They ream like plastic (graphite?) and exhibit some pretty noticeable parting lines. I thought I'd save some time and got them with the cork insert, but ended up having to shave the cork down on one to get it flush with the seat (it was off quite a bit). If I go this route again, I'll probably just make my own insert. Otherwise its nice to have this new option. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 03/25/2007 04:56AM by Steven Libby. Angler's Workshop had some of the original spinning and casting skeleton peices you mentioned last I needed a batch. Part # for the trigger is GTGH and the ID you want, 3/8 or 9/16 added after. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
