Titanium Guides

I'm about to replace titanium guides on a rod for a person and I have never worked with them. With C/S and S/S guides I grind the foot of the guide. My question is...Do you grind a titanium guide like you do a C/S guide?
I don't need a meltdown as I'm grinding them.....a little too pricey!

Thank You

[titanium.corrosionmaterials.com]

About 1/2 way down the page it details best way to grind. Go slow and it will be fine.

They are 3X harder and displace heat much better - no meltdown issues. You won't have to grind them very much at all, they are much cleaner than stainless - you will be pleased.

Be prepared to see a few sparks! But pay them no mind and grind away. But keep in mind that other than Fuji and Amtak models, the other titaniums are just plating and not solid alloy. As far as I know they're aren't.

For whatever this is worth, titanium dissipates heat more slowly than steel. However ,as others have said, no problem.

I found grinding the titanium frames on my Fugi guides to be much easier than grinding any of the plated stainless steel frames. No sparks or anything with the Dremel.

Recoils are easy to prep too,but the material comes off quickly.
