I just re-finished a bamboo rod that I got on @#$%&, and it has loose ferrules on the tip to middle section connection. Is there any was to tighten up the ferrule connection so the tip doesn't cast off when I cast.

Andy
I just had the same problem with a bamboo rod I redid for a customer. The advice I was given was to bounce the female end of the ferrule on the floor a couple of times to mushroom the ferrule. It worked like a charm. Bounce the ferrule off the floor and check it to make sure it doesn't mushroom out too much. If that doesn't work you may have to replace the ferrule. Thomas F. Take a pipe or tubing cutter with a well worn cutting die, snug it on the ferrule and roll it around the ferrule at the top, middle and bottom and that will fix the problem very effectively.

It will not mar the ferrule. As in so many things, it only requires that you know what you're doing. The cutter must be well worn as stated above.
