DMC cross stitch threads

I did a quick search on this and saw nothing, so excuse me if this has been asked before. I'm thinking I might do some weaves of letters on my next couple builds and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with using cross stitch threads. My wife has done cross stitching in the past and has a million (more or less) colors to choose from. I'm thinking of using them just for the lettering. I'm thinking it whould work well if I use CP. I'll probably do a test wrap before I try it, but does anyone have any experience with this stuff?

Thanks,

Wayne

I have used the DMC stuff. If you are going to do a weave with them make sure that the have a polyester core to them, not cotton or rayon. I have undone the thread, as it comes with 6 stands to it. A 8 yard skane will net you 24 feet x 6 or about 125 feet because some of it will tangel up on you will you are undoing it. Make sure to us CP on it and test it out. I have had no problems with the polyester core stuff. Good luck.
