Suggestions on Finishing Fore Grip Rod Armor

I need some suggestions on the best way to finish off the fore grip where I covered it with Rod Armor (on a stand up rod I'm building). I followed suggestions from Mark at Acid Rod and installation of Rod Armor was VERY easy. The end of Rod Armor at back of grip is hidden neatly between grip and reel seat. But at front of fore grip, the edge of Rod Armor didn't shrink down quite enough to fit under a normal winding check. I trimmed the excess Rod Armor and you can see what it looks like now:

I'm trying to decide if covering the front end of grip with rod finish (Threadmaster) will seal the Rod Armor edge neatly enough. And then add a regular winding check and decorative wrap (after finish has dried on end of grip). Or use a larger (tall) winding check (rubber hosel) - but still think I'd need to somehow seal the "seam" between front edge of the Rod Armor and hosel.

Since this is my first time dealing with Rod Armor, I'm not sure what the best approach would be. I'd really appreciate your suggestions.

5 min epoxy ramp and wrap up to the edge of the grip. It will seal the Rod armor and hide the cut

Put heat shrink over the edge and coat with thread and finish to make a nice clean hosel ramp to the blank.

I've never attempted making a ramp using 5 minute epoxy. Could you please describe how it's done?

I use 5 min epoxy for ramps. With the rod turning. I gob the epoxy where the blank and reel seat meet . Raise the tip a little to get the ramp angle that you want. The turning of the rod will give you a nice smooth ramp right to the edge of the seat. You can color the epoxy but I Just wrap right up the ramp and when you get to the top, just put a small dab of Super glue to hold the tag in pace and tape the end out of the way. Put finish on and when it's dry, trim off the loose end flush. Makes a nice looking transition.

Try using a hosel as opposed to a wind check.
