Thread color for Tiger Eye blanks

Just ordered some Tiger Eye spinning blanks from Sevier. Was wondering if anyone has any favorite thread colors that go with this blank. Also, has anyone used theri spinning guides much?

Thanks,
Marc

Hi Marc, I like to use Gudebrod 396 Dark Brown without CP, it matches the blank nicely. I prep the guides and use a brown Sharpie marker on the guide feet so the feet do not show through. Have a great day.

Gudebrod 5274 Chestnut is also a pretty good match.

Nice blanks.

Gidebrod black&orange classic twist looks great on these blanks. Must use CP!

I made a Tiger Eye fly rod last week and used Gudebrod #524 (olive green) with a gold trim band that looks pretty good.

I built a fly rod for my daughter (IIRC the blank is the same color) and used bronze (9541) with copper (9396) trim bands on the butt section and then rust (257) without CP on the guides. On a test section before installing the seat we tried the black/orange (0221) Classic Twist and it looked pretty good too.

Metallic maroon trimmed with copper really pops.

I've used just about every color you can imagine on these balnks and they all look good. I even did a pink and blue wrap for a ladies fly fishing club rod that I thought was going to be terrible but it turned out nice. Who knew?

Almost any brown, red, gold, silver, twist, green, yellow, orange, black and apparently pink will work well. Most color combinations work well also.
