Turning eva/hypalon

G'day Guys,
When you turn eva or hypalon, do you mount it on a peice of wooden dowel to support it and then chuck the dowel in the lathe? Or would it be preferable to use one of Andy Dear's mandrels? Regards Jason Re: Turning eva/hypalon

I use a mandrel Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: Turning eva/hypalon

Lowes has some cheap steel dowels. They worked alot better then wood for me. Mandrels would be nice if i had a live center.
