Sammy is famous

The local newspaper has already done an article on the big show this weekend. Sammy Mickel had the lead photograph, on the front page no doubt. He even bumped the winner of the Daytona 500 onto the second page.

They say everybody gets 15 minutes of fame in this life. I hope Sammy has enjoyed his. This might have been it.

I did hear that he has a bit more pull with his wife now that he's famous. According to what I was told, she offered to do the cooking for the next few days, but then, it's back to the status quo.

...............

NC Wildlife Magazine will have a large feature article on Custom Rod Building in a near future issue. Those familiar with this publication know the kind of quality they're famous for. They sent their managing editor to the event and he stayed all day Saturday, taking photos and conducting interviews. I have a feeling it will be the best article and best exposure custom rod building will have ever received.

One other editor, from a major national sportsfishing publication, was also there on Saturday. I'll wait a bit until I hear more from him before I spill the beans on what he was up to there.

Go Sammy!!!!!
That exposure is a fantastic boost for the whole craft and has to be a real positive for next year's show!!

Thanks, the attendees and other vendors made this an incredible show. I'm sure my good friends will find a way to remind me of this all year. It is fitting to have the responce we have had since the skeptics said it would never work. I'd like to thanks those behind the scene that helped in various ways at the Expo.

Rodney Powell, Wayne McGinnis, Jim George, Eric Newby and Debbie Bundy took a lot of pressure off of me by performing various tasks, all to perfection.
