Expo Weather

The weather for this area this weekend will be excellent. Had some rain yesterday but it's clearing now and will be sunny the remainder of the week, all the way through next Monday. Temperatures will be in the teens at night and in the mid 30's during the day. Great weather for a attending an event.

Hopefully the bad weather in the mid-west and northeast will abate in the next day or so and those coming in from those areas won't have any trouble driving or flying in.

Your rain is my snow right now. Just snowblowed the first 8" of the forecasted 2 feet in my area. 40 miles east of me in the area of I -95 its all sleet and freezing rain . If anyones driving from this area, tommorrow might be a tricky day. This is the first real snow event up here, and people tend to forget how slippery things can get, causing lots of accidents.

Tom,
Things are tenuous for me. Took one step outside to check the weather and took a hard fall on the 3/4" thick sheet of ice. US Airways is not taking my calls so I don't know if my flights are running. Have to change planes in Philly and that's another question mark.

They plow the roads very well up here but now we have frozen ice pellets which make driving dicey, ifn ot downright inpossible. Tomorrow's forecast calls for wind gusts to 50mph and a return to the deep freeze. I'm having second thoughts about going up in little turboprop commuter planes in these conditions.

Considering moving to a Friday morning flight if I can contact the airline. Meanwhile I can only monitor the situation by the hour.

Dave,

Don't say that about Philly!!!!!!!! I change planes in Philly Friday morning. US Air flt 3833 leaves Philly at 9:45 am. Coming from Detroit via Philly, figure that one out!!!

Unless I've missed a more recent forecast, most of that system will be over with by Friday morning.

Shouldn't be a problem by Thursday evening. It is really nasty right now though.

All the guys driving down have a safe trip.

I am really glad we are coming the "southern" route. We will follow the empy cracklin packages left by Bill Stevens and the occational mising road kill that looks interesting. The weather is supposed to be wet but not terrible the next few days! I hope so. Atlanta can be a xxxxx if it is snowy or really wet.
Good luck to all, especially those in the northern tier---you got bad stuff to go thru!

I hope Michael can even get to a place that has electricity to let us know his plans. The "Swampland Care Package" including a bar of Dial Soap will be eagerly awaiting his arrival. I really would hate to trust Billy with personal delivery. He could buy a years supply of colored EVA by pawning some of the contents of the package in Harlem.

Here is the place to check the status of your scheduled flight.

Bill, I'm finding the Irish Spring quite invigorating to the pallette, kind of minty . I'm open to try out the the Dial though. (insert smiley face here). This storm today cancelled a job with a new client and my superiors don't want to lose this client and want me work on my planned vacation day in order to please them (insert heavy sigh) What they don't realize is that on friday, working with the new client, I'm NOT going to be happy because I should be travelling to High Point, my helper will realize this immediatelly, causing him to be very unhappy, and I won't have a bar of soap in my mouth when they ask me to drill one more 30 footer at 3:00 pm friday !!! We'll lose the client either way! Catch 22!!

Wish I could pick up the care package, you have that same Cajun Jerky you had last year?

I don't know what weather Tom is looking at but what I see for the Mountains of Western NC does not look good for Sat. night. But that doesn't matter since we will all be in High Point by that time and Sunday it will go above freezing. Just bring your long underwear and a heavy coat it is going to be cold with wind!

Snow, freezing rain and ice here... falling trees and no power for 10 hours. Calling for more snow here Saturday night / Sunday morning. Sure glad I booked that hotel for Sunday night too just to give the road crews time to do their magic..
