RodMaker 10th Anniversary Issue
Posted by: Anonymous User (Moderator)

It mailed yesterday. Most will get it between February 20th and February 30th. Scheduled delivery is the 28th.

This is the 10 anniversary issue. I didn't make a big deal out of it but did put in a little history on the origins of the magazine. Beyond that, expect a lot of good rod building articles, as usual.

That's great. I can remember when your competitor said Rodmaker would not make it but in the end you're still here and they're long gone. The icing on the cake is that you have been able to put together the premier rodbuilding show on the planet and Rodmaker hasn't missed a beat.

Jon,

I suspect you're a new subscriber. As such, you got a copy right after you subscribed, but it's the copy that everybody else got back in December. So yes, they only come out every other month. I just don't like to make new subscribers wait until the next regularly scheduled issue, as some of them could end up waiting nearly 2 months before they'd get a copy. So I spend the extra to get whatever the current issue is right out to them.

Sammy,

My "competitor" has been wrong about a lot of things. No matter, the idea isn't to compete, but to provide the craft with a good magazine. I think we've done that. There's been a lot of good information from a lot of talented rod builders in our 10 years worth of issues.

It has been a beautiful magazine with leading edge information. I'm proud that a small number of my own articles have been published alongside other articles from some of the truly greatest rod builders in the world. I have devoured articles by Dr. William Hanneman, Joe Emig, Ralph O'Quinn and Rich Forhan. The work from people like Hiro Tanaka and Jim Upton and all the other talented rod builders still amazes me. And Tom has never been too busy to personally answer my questions or steer me in the right direction when I've hit a snag. I am a better rod builder today because of Rodmaker magazine.

Without Rodmaker and this site, I for one would be a pretty poor builder (not that I'm very good!!!!)

I haven't been on board for all ten years but in the four or five I've been taking the magazine I can say that it was always good and has gotten even better with time. The last two years have seen it come full circle IMO and the quality of the last few is on or above par with any magazine I've seen on any newsstand anywhere. Better than most fishing magazines in fact. It's the only magazine I subscribe to that I read cover to cover.

I managed to get my hands on a few back orders and what a great magazine. Congrats on 10 years. Just need to offer subscriptions to Canada.
