I have some coats and clark 40wght rayon thread for fly tying. I was wondering if I could use this to wrap the guides on a Panfishing rod. If Ican do I need to add CP to it before I epoxy. My guess is I do if I dont want the color to fade. Thanks again for the help.

Rayon is real "iffy" Too many horror stories about it. You mentioned fading thread. CP (or anything else) won't prevent thread from fading over time. CP is to prevent the color from darkening and becoming translucent (many like that effect) when finish is applied. Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/05/2007 12:07PM by Mike Barkley. Re: Rayon Thread

Ive used it a few times..it IS weaker & I've had guides rip off from dragging the rods thru heavy brush..course..I just yanked the rod thru, but.I'd avoid it. Re: Rayon Thread
