I am wiring a small 6 RPM motor. if I direct wire it with no switch it runs clock wise. If I put a switch in it run counter clockwise. Any ideas what to do to get it to run clockwise with a swittch??? Re: motor rotation

If you wire a rocker switch in the line. All you have to do is turn it off then turn it back on to change direction. You may have to do that a couple times, in my experience. Bill in WV Re: motor rotation

One of mine runs both ways.....if I don't like the way it's rotating I flip the switch a couple of times and it rotates in the other direction. I can also grab the chuck while it's turning and it will reverse directions. Re: motor rotation

I have a 4RPM motor that turns randomly on power up. If I'm trying to tweak epoxy lines on a blank I just turn it off then back on until it goes my way. Re: motor rotation

Yeah,,, timing motors seem to reverse at a whim. Mine happens to like CW mostly. If you had a stubborn motor that only liked going one direction, and you want the other direction, just put it at the other end.
But with a very low rpm motor, why would it matter? Certainly too slow to wrap with, and slower than I'd want for applying finish (or do I just lack patience?) And for drying I can't imagine the direction makes any difference. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
