Had a idea for a blank to build up specificaly for my calcutta 251.Looking for a lighter action blank used for light weight casting with a forgiving tip might be used for occasional great lakes steelhead creek plugging..I don't want a pool cue type action also 7 foot is all the length I will need..Have looked at the rainshadow spinning blank to use on this baitcating rod it being the isp843f blank anyone use this blank or any thoughts on this use.thanks.Ray Re: Rainshadow blank ideas

Rainshadow HS9000 at 7'6" is designed for plugs. Longer than you say you want but a sweet blank. I have two that are spiral wrapped and use them for tossing spinners for steelhead as well as plugs. Re: Rainshadow blank ideas

Hi Ray,
In my opinion the ISP843 will be easier to cast. It is a "Moderate/Fast" action, and loads farther into the blank, for me that is an easier rod to load. The X-Fast "HS" series is a little trickier, your timing needs be right on. Years ago we did some ameteur Tounament casting, and the more moderate blanks made for easier loading, especially on long casts. Hope this helps. I have the ISP843-3 built spinning for a travel rod. It is a great blank which I would describe as being on the more moderate side. I have the OG finish and it is gorgeous. Personally, I wish it were a tad stiffer in the butt with a faster tip, but it is definitely easy to load. Very light and strait to me. Re: Rainshadow blank ideas

Are you looking for a two piece?
Dont forget we have the popping now available in two piece IP843F would also be a good choice. The ISB822.5 or the RX8+822.5 in one piece would do the jod as well. Re: Rainshadow blank ideas
