SS guides

Just recently attended a fishing show and was admiring some custom rods made by a local dealer. These rods had double foot solid stainless steel guides, or that is what I was told. I have never seen these before and would like to know if these are truly solid stainless steel and if so where are they available. You might ask yourself why I didn't ask while I was at their booth? Well to put it bluntly this particular custom rod shop is definitely not into sharing.
Thanks for sharing,
Jeff Leonard

Jeff,
I got mine from Mudhole (sponsor on the left list) but they are probably available from some other sponsors here as well. There are two types (braced and unbraced). I honestly don't know if they are solid SS, they just look like they have a coating to me. They are a pretty common guide, been around for quite some time if we are talking about the same guide. Many of the sponsors on the left carry guides that are stainless steel with a hard chrome plating, including us. Typically used for saltwater applications but you can use them for anything.

Joe,
These particular guides were much heavier in the frame and ring than the typical wire frame ss chrome plated such as Pac Bay. They did not appear to be plated (hard to tell).
