Do all nylon embrodery thread that is 40 weight the size of or smaller than A? Are there any that we should stay away from? What threads are available that would be the size of B or C?

Thanks everyone!

Scott

Hi Scott sorry to take so long to chime in on this but I would have thought you would have attracted a lot more help. First off understand one big fact. Thread is inconsistant. That being the baseline, Yes I would think that all 40wt is a little smaller that A thread. Also remember the twist of embroidery thread is different and thus has a different look when used in flat/guide work. I avoide Rayon and using silk is somewhat different too but I have in fact used both in some cases. Silk is really popular with the bamboo guys. Your last question is unclear to me. If you are meaning empboidery or non traditional threads close to B and C, then I am not aware of anything that fits that bill. If you are asking what companies make B and C threads. I think pretty much now we are looking at Gudebrod and National making B although National seems larger to me. Maybe one of the guys who use a mic can more specifically answere that. Drop me a line if you have any more questions.
