Lock Eastland (& I) would like to know your experience with ALPS triangular reel seats - Lock has heard that "... the triangular ones can be a bit uncomfortable when built as a spin rod and [that they are] more suited to a over head. Can anyone help please give me their opinion on this I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks R Re: ALPS Triangular - Lock Eastland

Alps Tri reel seats are awesome stuff. Hold reels very tightly and looks great.
Unfortunately, it is not comfortable in hand. Spinning... no. Overhead... maybe but not casting overhead. Fly rods and light game rods are perfect candidates. Re: ALPS Triangular - Lock Eastland

I have used the ALPS on saltwater fly rods and have received great customer feedback on them
