Seems like it is getting a fair amount of attention. Personally having a experience with another "group" and only receiving a peice of paper and no contact till dues came around I'm pretty skeptical.
Makeing the custom rod makers a force in the fishing industry would be great and if you provided it's "members" with information on marketing strategy and ways to improve sales skills and managing invetory would be the things to sway me. When I hear the word "industry" I feel it is a business, hopefully profitatble, not a hobby group. Re: RBI talk

Sammy,
It'd been covered before on some posts here and in depth in articles in RodMaker magazine. There's no way to put the extent of info in the magazine here. Re: RBI talk

You bring up a good point. But all that RBI has to do is just make note of the mistakes and oversights from others who have tried previous type organizations and then make sure not to repeat them. Try reading this post from Joe and what he plans to do- [www.rodbuilding.org]
I have no idea if he'll be as good as his word but at least he makes a good case for the need for such a thing and how he plans to attack the matter. Re: RBI talk

Thanks guys. I do get Rodmaker and beleive it was a introductory article. I beleive our input can help show possible first steps to head in. As far as mistakes and oversights to be noted, I would simply say that some never put out a effort that could result in a mistake. I'm sure well get the chance to talk to Joe at the Expo but it helps to see how many people take this idea seriously. Happy New Year. Re: RBI talk

If Joe builds it they will come. There really isn't any good organization for serious rod builders at the moment. Joe would only have to show that he's serious and put out a little effort and what there is out there in terms of serious professional rod builders would be knocking at his door. Would depend on the membership fee for me and what you get in return. I agree with Sammy on the other. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
