A little help for a newbie please

I am ready to order guides for my first build and would like some input please.
The rod will be an ultra light spinning rod for Grayling, Whitefish & small Lakers based on a 3/4 wt 8 foot IM6 fly blank. The guides I have chosen are as follows AmTac GCSF-20,GCSF-12,GCSF-8 & then GZTF-5's to the tip.
This rod will be a warm weather rod so I don't have to worry about icing problems.
Please let me know if you agree with my guide sizing & choice.
Any comments pro or con would be much appreciated.

Regards
Dave

Dave, Sounds like a good selection. I like fishing with long lightweight rods myself, and have built a few spinning rods from multi-piece fly rods, with good results.

They'll work, but the only way to make sure they're the optimum set up is to, well... set them up per the article on the library page here and see. The line path should dictate your guide sizes and locations.

Most guides aren't very expensive. Order a 16 an a 10 to go along with those and use the ones that give you the best line path. Put the others back for your next rod.
