Can anyone recommend an UL spinning (or fly type) guide in a size 4? I'm trying to keep the rod, from the choke guide out, as light as possible. Material isn't as important, as it will be fishing small freshwater stuff.

Your not going to get any lighter than SF wire fly guides, Tich coated. They make them pretty small also if you able to get away with a sz 4 ceramic ring now, a Sz 1 SF wire fly guide would be about the same dia with a larger opening and lighter than the ceramic ringed 4
I don't see how a high framed "M" guide saves weight from the intersect/choke guide to the tip. Mighs help prior to that but still the spool on a UL REEL sits very close to the blank in the 1st place. More guide more weight and I thought he was asking about lightening things up? Batson M guides are awesome, and designed for ultra lights.
