Best Guides for 6' Super Seeker Standup Tuna Blank?

G'day folks - just looking for some help with guides for a Super Seeker SS-CJBF60H 6' 50lb stand-up Tuna rod - to be built with Aftco ARS seat and gimbal, toughbutt and spiral wrapped. Any suggestions on guides - I was thinking Fuji LRSG SiC's but has anyone built any of these blanks up yet, and if so what guides did you use?

any help / suggestions appreciated thanks!

Jon

My favorite guide is LRSG for this type rod but I wrap conventional - you mentioned spiral wrapping. I dont think LRSG will work well when used for spiral. I think everyone is using American Roller for this. Might be overkill though.

I've done several with Fuji's new(ish) CHBNG's & BHBNG's. Those are Nitride II rings. The same frame with SIC is a HBSG.

I've spiral wrapped(acid wrapped here on the west coast) several dozen tuna rods using the LRSG which is my favorite guide for rods up to 80# class. I just purchased the new Fugi HBSG guides to try on several. they look like the turbo guides but are siffer being made out of stainless verses the brass of the LRSG.

My recommendation would be the Fuji HNSG's.

Personally, I think the LRSGs will work out fine for you.

Thanks again for your replies folks - most appreciated and it's the advice and opinions like this that make this forum so good! It looks like the LR / HB SG guides get the nod, but has anyone tried building with the Power Oval Guides in single or double foot? (W/DBSG). I'm not sure they'd be flexible enough for a standup rod, but they do look very strong.

thanks again for all replies,

JON

They are great guides... but even here in Japan where they use them quite a bit, not for 50lb.
