I have started building more rods with size 20 strippers and besides maxing out standard rod bags, they are a very tight fit in the 2.25" rod tubes that have served me so well. (4 piece rods)
Does anyone have experience with this issue? Has anyone used 2.50" tubes? Re: Rod Tubes for Rods with Size 20 Strippers

PVC...nothing like it. I hate the plastic look & stripe of type on the tube, so I wrap the tube with mason line or similar cording, just like a reel foot or decorative butt wrap...initials etc. They look great & cost a fraction of a metal tube. I posted a photo of some samples under Misc.

REC carries a very affordable 2" or 2 1/2" aluminium tube with a rubber compression cap. A fraction of what a screw-top tube will cost you.
It is called the "Back Roads" and is just a plain light-weight tube - any length you wish, with a snap-on rubber cap. That is all I use now. It is on their web site at the bottom of the products. If you can't find it call Dan ay REC 860 749-3476. Herb Re: Rod Tubes for Rods with Size 20 Strippers

Thanks for the replies. If you guys are still out there...what I was really asking - should I use a 2.25" or 2.5" tube? Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
