Hi agian - Mudhole have a bunch of closeout Lamiglas blanks, one of them being the above. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them? I cant even find out whether they're fibreglass or graphite or composite, and they're obviously some years old as I cannot even find anything on Google.
thanks, Jon Re: Lamiglas BBT 784E 6'6" 50lb SW blank

Jon
I built a shark rod on this blank with American tackle Turbo guides. It was a good deal from Mudhole.. I used the ice blue aftco gimbal and reel seat along with a slick butt. I like the rod. I like this stand up even though it is a little long, but on some of the boats i fish this is advantage to moving it around the boat if we are lazy and not start the engines up (which is common unless we are tournament fishing) I may have trimmed an inch or two off the butt, but I can't remember.. let me know if you have any specific questions. Thanks Ernie - I was thinking of the same - Ice blue Aftco seat/gimbal with a slick/toughbutt, but would build it with Fuji oval boat guides and a swivel roller tip in a spiral style. I was actually thinking of trimming an inch or two off the top to bring it up to a 60lb blank.... Not sure though...
It's difficult to know what it would be like built - obviously glass is slower and heavier, but then again as a lighterweight stand up Tuna rod this should be a bonus. What have you used yours for? cheers, Jon Re: Lamiglas BBT 784E 6'6" 50lb SW blank

In the 2003 catalog they have it listed as a standup 30-80 lb class blank (BSU784E) and as a 80 lb boat/trolling blank (BBT784E). Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
