Kim,
I am going to try using the (T)SVSG #16 as a stripper on a 10wt. Naturally I will want to stay with the "V" design for the subsequent double foot tamer & guides. Please advise how the progression should go if I want to end up with sf 7's, considering that the SVSG is a higher frame than "normal". Herb Re: Kim re Fuji SVSG

I would use the SVSG 16, followed by 12's for the tamer and subsequent stripper. From there I would move to TLSG 8's on out. You can go with 7's, but if you plan to run any shooting heads or large knots in your terminal end, I'd stay with 8's. They'll be very light in the TLSG anyway.
Best bet is to rig up a few test sets and try them. I hate just giving out sizes without having the rod here where I could set it up and see how things go. .......... Re: Kim re Fuji SVSG

Tom,
I only use whole lines - no heads. I already have a bunch of sf 7's with tips - but I can save them for the 9wts. Thanks, Herb Re: Kim re Fuji SVSG

Size 7's may work fine. So why not tape up a set and see how they do.
