Billy V....a little help

Hey Billy, and others, I need a VW script or a pattern suggestion. I'm doing an Alabama themed rod and have very limited colors to work with. Basically Maroon, Black, White, with a highlight of some sort with Silver maybe.

The maroon color that the buyer picked out is Garnet Nylon(non NCP) and while a very close match to Alabama's color, I have no contrast with it and the black.

I need a relatively simple pattern suggestion. I *would* do a closed wrap if thats what it came to but for what I'm charging for this rod, I would prefer to have a sharp looking open wrap to save myself the time. It was left up to me for the butt wrap but the colors are set. Its a black St Croix blank FYI.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Dave

David,
How about a white underwrap with a maroon to black fade chevron?

Definitely thought about that exact thing. I underwrapped the LSU rod I did recently with white and it came out great. The only thing that I worry about is the lack of contrast between the black and the garnet. Garnet with CP is VERY dark and The color transition wouldn't be that obvious in my opinion. This rod is going to my best friends Dad as a Christmas gift. Thats why I charged him basically component cost plus $25 to cover my materials. Which is the reason that I would like to stay away from a 5 hour+ closed wrap. Somtimes, simplicity wins over technical.

David, Have you considered Garnet---Silver / White---Black Chevrons on 8 axes?

A picture is worth....well you know the rest. I get the 8 axis part and the cheverons but I'm having difficulty imagining that. I'll look through the picture posts and see if I can find something similar to what you are talking about.

Gonna probably go with this design unless I get a better sugestion. Anyone have a script for it? I'm currently at work and can't get to Viswrap website to check there.

Here's a link to the script:

You can right-click on it, choose "Save Target As..." and save it locally in order to use it with Vizwrap.

Thats exactly what I'm going to do.....I even found a picture of the black and garnet together! Its over a yellow where mine will be over white. I think it will be perfect once I am done. Thanks all for the help.
