I am a beginner rod builder who lives in Canada. In Canada I was just beginning to establish a business relationship with Richard from Richard's Rod and Reels when he had a fire and his business was put on hold. Since then I have been using Mudhole for many of my rod builds and I can only say that they are with out a doubt a quality outfit. They are always quick to answer my newbie questions and when I order components they ship it out without delays. If there is a delay they will let me know and offer some type of estimated time. There catalogue is filled with a wide variety of rod building needs and I have had little trouble with things not being in stock. I can not be positive enough about my dealings with Mudhole and just wanted to give them this public plug.

Great Job Scott and the Mudhole team

Hi Andrew

Yeah I would have to agree with you here. Some times I curse them becuase I spend so much money with them LOL. But you and I both know it is worth it. They get my orders to me pretty fast too considering I am on the other side of the planet. So far they have pretty much had everything I have needed. If I had only one gripe it would be the shipping cost but hey...it is part of doing business. They have a slick easy to navigate website too and that is a big plus for me

Regards

Scott Ryan

I've bought lots of stuff through Mudhole. I probably place 2-3 orders a month with them on average and don't think I've ever had an order error. To me, that says alot.

I wish that they didn't charge the Federal excise tax to those of us who are exempt. It adds up when you place a lot of orders with them. And I do place a lot of orders with them -- they're my #1 supplier.

Jim,

They have no choice - that tax was added at the first point of sale. Any sale between Mud Hole and you is the second, and even third point of sale. Dealers cannot remove the tax, only the manufacturer can do that.
