I'm playing around with using 1/8 and 1/4" acrylic trim rings in grips and would like some opinions on best adhesive to bond them to cork, EVA and wood. Also acrylic rings to each other. My thought would be Rod Bond on anything but I'm not that knowledgable!!
Ralph, feel free to jump in here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rod Bond would probably be your best bet there Mike. Scuffing the mating surfaces of the acrylic (water break free) would help a great deal.

The best way to bond polymers is what is called a solvent weld. Take the 2 pieces of acrylic and coat the matting surfaces with a mutual solvent, which will begin to dissolve the surfaces. Press the 2 pieces together and allow the solvent evaporate and presto! you have one piece of plastic. You will have to experiment with solvent until you find one that will soften the surfaces without turning the whole piece into "mush." Call the acrylic manufacturer, they might have some advice on solvent choice.
Best of luck!!!

Mike. I would use rod bond for acrylic to other materials but if bonding acrylic to acrylic go to a dental supply site and look at what they use for manufacturing false teeth and bridges. When I was shoeing horses I used a dental acrylic kit to build up places in the hoof that were damaged or missing. This stuff sets up real fast but has a great bond. As a matter of fact it could be used for casting acrylic parts also. the kit also comes with a coloring agent that I used to match th color of the hoof I was working on.

With a water break free surface, you can get by with an epoxy to bond acrylic to acrylic. But you have to be certain of the material you're working with. When get into all these various plastics, you start to find some that just won't bond with the epoxies. In those cases you almost have to go the route that Adam suggests. I don't know enough about the various types of plastics to tell you which will work with epoxies and which won't. But I can tell you that most of the pen blank type plastics will be okay with epoxy. Materials such as delrin and similar, will not.
