Can't go wrong with either. Although the Shikari's have been discontinued and will soon be in short supply. If you plan to duplicate the rod or build more like it later, the RainShadow might be the better choice. Then again, there are some super deals on the remaining stock of Shikari's right now.

The company that has bought over SHIKARI --- ATC (Advanced Tubular Composites) is in business and preparing its new catalog for mailings.I have seen the offerings of blanks and many will be the same model #'s as the old Shikari's. Prices are extremely good and I am sure all the bass fshermen out there will be anxious to try some of them. If you have any questions on models , blank wts., pricing etc. please drop me an e-mail and I will be glad to help you.
Bingham Enterprises will be carrying the new line of ATC blanks.
Sincerely,
Karen Hapka

I have been dealing with the Batson Family and using their products since the early 1990's and have nothing but good things to say about both. Jesse

I recently had a Baston blank fail, according to Baston, there was "an air pocket in the resin" they not only replaced the blank, but alowed the customer to slightly UPgrade AT NO ADDITIONAL COSTS......that is above "good service" in my opinion. I have built quite a few Bastons and have been very pleased wth every one.

Everyone keeps talking about Rainshadow but no one ever mentions Forecast. They are also a very good blank and a great value. If you look at the specs, some models are almost the same measurements/weights as the corresponding Rainshadow at a much lower cost.
