Aloha everyone. My brother-in-law purchased 2 trolling rods made on Loomis blanks- or so he was told. His rods got scraped and the black paint got scratched off revealing white blanks. Did Loomis ever make white trolling blanks? If so, were these blanks made recently? Mahalo for any responses. Re: G Loomis trolling rod blanks

Yes, and they were among the best glass trolling blanks ever made. They were available in sizes from 20 to 130 lb and in either black or white. The last 10 inches were straight no-taper, so you could trim them and they would still perfectly fit each respective uni-butt ferrule size. They discontinued these around 1992 or 1993 I believe.

Mahalo Nui Loa for your response Tom. I suspect that if the blanks were discontinued back in the early 90's that his recently purchased NEW trolling rods may not be Loomis. But if they are new old stock---lucky him. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
