would it make a difference with a spiral wrap if the fisherman was left or right handed? would a lefty be better off with a wrap to the left or right? any advice would be apprieciated, thanks folks. Re: one more spiral wrap question

Neal,
I haven't noticed any difference as to the way the rod fishes or casts. I generally build mine bumper style with the bumper guide the same side as the reel handle to make storage (or laying the rod down) a bit easier. Randy. Re: one more spiral wrap question

I think what matter is with which hand you're turning the handle. I use bait caster type reels with the handle on the right so I want my guides to spiral to the left so its easy to use my left hand to level the line on the reel as I'm bringing in line. Re: one more spiral wrap question

I am with Randy on this, since I build mostly bass rods. With the guides going to the same side of the handle on the reel, the rod lays better on the deck of the boat. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/27/2006 06:35AM by Mike Sledden. Re: one more spiral wrap question

I read some where that your spiral wrap should follow the side that you handle is on! Just my 2cs. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
