Comparable Blank - GUSA SW70M

I am looking for a blank similar to this to be used for SW Spinning 10-12# with a Penn 712. I know the Lami XC84MH & IMC84MH are the same, but have been discontinued & I don't know the new model numbers.

I am pretty sure he's gonna use this in Florida for Yellowtail & possibly Kings - that type of fishing. Anyone sith other blank suggestions I'm all ears. He used to use the Calstar GX7 for this, but was looking for something lighter in the hand, but with a similar bend. He DOES NOT want a stiff fast graphite blank, nor does he want Composites.

Billy,
How about CTS? I haven't used any of their saltwater stuff yet but really like the freshwater blanks. Maybe worth a thought. My .015. Randy.

Billy

I love my St Croix for the salt. I think they are the SC II blanks. I have caught a ton of blues on them and they provide a great bend in a 12-15lb test.

Why does he not like composites? just curious...

Composites are almost twice as heavy as comparable graphite, with thicker clunkier OD's, and they are not nearly as sensitive. The ONLY time I use Composites is in a situation where teh rod has a chance of breaking - be it from a careless fisherman or the type of fishing he's doing lifting big fish over teh rail or throwing/abusing the rod.

Thanks for the info.

Grafighter, I just started one (7ft, 20-40lb, 8/64ths, .785) and it is pretty light.

Billy,
The IMC845 (MH) is still in the Lami catalog.
