I am looking for some help on selecting a reel seat for a Silver islander centerpin reel. I am looking for a perfect color match as well fit. I am looking at the CL8R-C or CL8R-T from Pac bay but I am not sure witch one would be the best color match. Also would the Islander reel foot lock down in that seat (As far as side to side movement.)? Or do I need a differant size seat? Any help would be appreciated. Re: Reel seat for islander reel.

Steve, you might contact Andy Snedden from Rodbuilders Supply (listed on the left). Andy is very familiar with the reels and with the components used with them.

Steve,
Ive built a bunch of float rods and used to fish and islander. Ive always used a A8L2 skeleton set with wood insert. The silver color hardware matches it well. Insertsbyles(sponser) makes a great mortised float reel seat. The seat locks the foot down nicley. This is the seat that 90% of custom float rod builders use followed by the struble fergeson. Hope this helps ya. The islanders seat is alot more standard than other float reels, you should be fine.
