Has anyone used any of this thread? Will it work for rod building and if so what type of C.P. would be best? Re: Robison-Anton Rayon

Do a search and type in rayon and you will get a tons of info on why not to use rayon thread. Stick with nylon or polyestors. R$-A make a polyestor thread as do many others. Madiera polyneon is very popular also. I would use CP just to be safe (any one that you like) as many sewing threads are treated with lubricants for sewing machines Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! What Mike said. RA poly is some pretty good stuff, but I don't think you'll be happy with the rayon. Re: Robison-Anton Rayon

Mike & Mick are giving good advise. IMO, rayon is unsuitable for rodbuilding, but polyester and nylon seem to work well. If using embrodiery thread (Madeira, etc), as coulpe of coats of CP hepls prevents splotching due to the thread lubricant.
