Hello again guys, another for the fly fishers.
Any advice on 5 wt tropical/warmwater lines? I've read the blurb, and looked around on the 'net, but only found 1 WF5F, the Sci Anglers Bonefish floating. Looking for an intermediate in the same configuration. All alternatives will be considered, as I'm on a budget, and don't think fly will take over just yet (unlike some I know). Thanks, Ted.. You don't see many people going after bones with a 5 wt, 6 wt or heavier is usually the rod choice. You can get a 6 wt Rio 9 ft clear intermediate/ remainder floating line or a Teeny Warmwater which if I remember right is a 10 ft clear/14 ft intermediate/ remainder floating. Most casts sightfishing will be within 40 ft so you should be ok with a 6 wt line. The all clear intermediates aren' the hot setup as they are hard to keep track of and you don't know where you are in relation to the fish, guides don't like them for this reason. Check on the Cortland slow sinking intermediate in the blue color. I recall getting 2 on @#$%& from a clearing house in Austin for $30 each. Sierra Trading often has Rios and Orvis lines heavily discounted as well. Don Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
