Hi
Did you ever try to write on waterslide decals with some markers/labelling pens? It`s difficult for me to write on a blank for now but I would like to add personal look with my handwriting. Would it work? Thanks, Re: Writing on waterslide decals

No need to have a waterslide decal to hand write on a rod. Just buy the speedball pigmented ink in your color choice(s) and the pen to write with and you can do anything you want anyway you want it.
I like to lay down a coat of finish, let it dry, write on the finish I laid down, and put one coat of finish over my writing. DR Re: Writing on waterslide decals

If you mess up just wipe off and try it again . You'll be a pro in no time. Re: Writing on waterslide decals

Or go another route. Write it on paper, send it to Decal connection, and have them make a decal.
I have been doing my signature this way for years. Re: Writing on waterslide decals

I haven't tried it yet but I know you can write on water slide decal
paper and create your own label. You will want to spray the label with a clear fixatif to seal the writing otherwise it's likely to smear or be adversley affected by the epoxy finish. Will, The Scotch magic tape method works well too and fixatif is a good idea there as well. Also after the tape is on the blank, cover with CP to keep the epoxy from reacting with the glue on the tape and lifting the edges. Same as with any peel & stick decal. Bartosz,
I wasn't trying to undermind your idea. When you lay down a coat of epoxy and let it dry, then use the ink to write on TOP of the epoxy, it can be EASILY wiped off 100 times with mere alcohol until you get it to look the way you want it too, the waterslide paper is just not needed at all and its more hassle that it's worth. Why waste waterslide paper, deal with applying it and throwing away all the mistakes when you don't have too...am I missing something? DR Re: Writing on waterslide decals

Decal connection has sheets of waterslide decal stock that you can write on if you prefer to do it that way.

Yes, you can.
You'll need to make sure that your ink isn't water soluble, or it will smear when you put the decal on the blank. Or, you can spray with a clear fixative before you apply the decal. Terry Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
