Bruce; You have a bunch of answers on your other post but if I was doing it I would put on enough finish to fill the depression and then sand the whole thing down a bit if you feel it's too thick and then put on a thin finish coat. If you don't build up some finish you stand the chance of cutting into your inlay again. Re: bonehead revisited

Actually, Jim, I read my other posts and this latest is a bit different. You have to understand, someone trying to explain something to you in writing, isn't nearly as effective as actually demonstrating. My latest question dealt with just feeling the tiny blemish hole. I keep reading that this a learning tool. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
