Hi Friends,
I know Dale Clemens only through reading his books. I also remember in some posts, TK had mentioned that Crystal Coat mentioned by Dale in his books is now Klassic Coat. Can anyone confirm whether this is the same as Classic Coat. Many thanks, Anthony Lee Re: Cyrstal Coat

No, Classic Coat is a 100% solids epoxy. Crystal Coat and Klass Kote (I never said that Crystal Coat was now Klass Kote) are similar solvent based epoxy products.

Thanks Tom. Thought you said something to that effect. Must have remembered wrongly. Sorry for the confusion.
Another question, can I use solvent based epoxy directly on to my hand written inscriptions or decals or would it affect them? Anthony Lee Re: Cyrstal Coat

It might very well smear or melt them. They contain a pretty hot solvent. If you seal the decal or inscription with something - color preserver or clear spray or something, you should be okay.

Anthony: I use model paint for my inscriptions thinned with a couple drops of water. I rough the spot where I write the inscription and just epoxy over it with Crystal Coat. It hasn't smeared yet. I use Crystal Coat becuase the guy that taught me (teaching) me uses it. I haven't had a problem. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
