Thread Help Needed

My local source for Madeira thread has stopped stocking it. Alternatives are Mettler and Coats and Clark (Wal Mart). Does anyone out there have exoerience or advice on using either thread? I mostly do short butt wraps on fly rods.
Thanks

I have used Coates and Clark Trilobal polyester for awhile now. It is just about the only thing I use anymore, and i have it in about a dozen colors. So far, no problems at all with fisheyes, or anything like that. I have come to like the way it tensions better than nylon.

I have used the Mettler polyester thread and do not like it. I did a weave and after putting on CP it stretched somewhat. I have four spools of Coates and Clark but have not tried them yet. Gutterman is another brand that I don't like. It is too fuzzy. Madeira is by far the best thread other than Gudebrod for weaves. Stay away from any rayon thread.

My local suppliers stopped carrying Madeira also. I've been using their Coates and Clark and Robison-Anton stuff for a while now and haven't found a bad thing to say about either.
