Alps reel seats

Hi
I am thinking of trying these seats on two rods, a 15ft 9wt Spey and a 9ft 9wt saltwater fly rod.
I have never seen one here in the UK but the pictures look good !!!
Has anyone tried one and are they suitable for the types of application I have in mind.
Thanks
Dave Olley

I ordered a size 12 Alps for a 5wt fly rod. I have not gotten around to putting the rod together but looking at the reel seat it seems to be a very sound good looking seat. It may be a little heavier than that of a regular seat but on a 15ft and 9ft rod I would doubt that you would notice the difference. They have a very good lock up and appear to be very sturdy. I think that you will like it.

David,
Which seats were you looking at the Tri-Seats? I have them all available. Get on my site and check them out. Great color selection.

Cheers,

Ross. www.therodworks.com.au

I've tried 2 on my last couple of salt water jig blanks and reckon they are great. I will not go back to some of the other higher profie brands unless a customer specifically wants the other brand. Great service from Ross as well.
